The Earth is the LORD"S and Everything In It

In honor of Earth Day 2015, I thought I'd share a few good quotes and a prayer from Christine Sine of Mustard Seed Assoicuates and God Space 2015:

"The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it,
the world and its inhabitants too.
Because God is the one who established it on the seas;
God set it firmly on the waters."
- Psalm 24.1-2

“Catch! calls the Once-ler.
He lets something fall.
It's a Truffula Seed.
It's the last one of all!
You're in charge of the last of the Truffula Seeds.
And Truffula Trees are what everyone needs.
Plant a new Truffula. Treat it with care.
Give it clean water. And feed it fresh air.
Grow a forest. Protect it from axes that hack.
Then the Lorax
and all of his friends
may come back.”
― Dr, Seuss The Lorax

"We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children."-- Native American Proverb

"To cherish what remains of the Earth and to foster its renewal is our only legitimate hope of survival." - Wendell Berry

“All creation is the Lord’s, and we are responsible for the ways in which we use and abuse it. Water, air, soil, minerals, energy resources, plants, animal life, and space are to be valued and conserved because they are God’s creation and not solely because they are useful to human beings.” - Social Principles of the United Methodist Church
